The city of Orlando is located in central Florida. It is one of the best family destinations in the state, with plenty of activities for visitors of all ages. For a state that is known for its beaches, Orlando is its largest inland city. But do not be disheartened, ‘The City Beautiful,’ as it is nicknamed, will not disappoint you. There are plenty of attractions to keep everyone engaged, especially theme parks and resorts. In fact, with 62 million annual visitors, Orlando is known as the ‘Theme Park Capital of the World.’ Half of the top 10 most-visited theme parks of the world are in Orlando. Here is a list of top 10 attractions for those heading to Orlando.

Discovery Cove is part of the SeaWorld Parks and Resorts Orlando. It is an amusement park which has a wide collection of marine animals and birds. The highlight is certainly the bottlenose dolphins. In Discovery Cove, guests are allowed to swim, play, touch, and even ‘talk’ with these bottlenose dolphins. Another major attraction is the presence of nearly 30 different species of exotic birds along with 250 colorful tropical birds. The Grand Reef section of the park allows visitors to snorkel with eagle rays.

The Orlando Science Center is a science museum that is owned privately but supported by the State of Florida. SeaWorld Orlando is part of the SeaWorld Parks and Resorts Orlando. It is a theme park and marine zoological park rolled into one. The park opened its doors to the public in 1973 and has since been a major attraction in Orlando, clocking over 4 million visitors every year. It is spread over 200 acres and features 13 rides and 5 roller coasters. The park is divided into several sections, or ‘seas,’ like Sea of Legends, Sea of Mystery, Sea of Power, and Sea of Fun, to name a few. Live entertainment is offered at the various interactive venues like the Dolphin Theater and the Sea Lion and Otter Theater.

There are several rides and attractions that keep the visitors entertained in this park. Other than its permanent exhibits, Epcot is also home to several popular events. 2 of these deserve special mention – The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival and The Epcot International Festival of the Arts.
